Maine’s Teacher of the Year named

FALMOUTH, Maine — A second-grade teacher at D.W. Lunt School in Falmouth has been named 2010 Maine Teacher of the Year.

Maine Education Commissioner Sue Gendron presented the award to Kevin Grover during a surprise assembly Thursday in the school gymnasium. Several past teachers of the year were also in attendance.

Grover is credited for his use of technology in the classroom, including streamed video and a digital morning message. He’s also technology liaison for Lunt School.

The program is sponsored by the Maine State Teacher of the Year Association, the Maine Department of Education and the Maine State Board of Education.
