BANGOR – Irene E. Shaw Osgood, 63, died Sept. 15, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at a local hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 23, 1946, in Danforth, the daughter of Ira and Elizabeth (Wibberly) Bragg. Irene was a dedicated member of Beacon of Hope, Bangor. She worked for many years at local nursing homes and hospitals as a dietary aide, and was well known for being a “Nanny,” cooking, cleaning and sewing for many family and friends. Irene is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Durrah and Melissa Potts, both of Kenduskeag; two brothers, Harold Bragg of Florida and Aubrey Bragg of Bridgewater; one sister, Myrtle of Florida; five grandchildren, Katie Dube, Heather Durrah, Steven Libby, Jacob and Emily Potts; three great-grandchildren, her very special great-grandson whom she was raising, Dakota Pinkham, Destiny Littlefield and Mackenzie “Baby Girl” Fickett; her beloved son-in-law, Steve Libby; special sister-in-law, Joyce; and her beloved friend, Fran Head. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dale Shaw; and daughter, Lori Libby. Services will be private for the family.
