Body found in woods in Windham

WINDHAM, Maine — Police in Windham, Maine, are awaiting word from the medical examiner on a body found earlier this week in a wooded area in town.

Lt. David DeGruchy says the body was found Sunday morning by a man and a woman who live on the Webb Road. He says the body was decomposed and there was no identification nearby.

Police say the body was that of a man who with reddish-brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, brown shirt, DeWalt work boots and a Dickie-style jacket. A Red Sox cap was found nearby.

DeGruchy says the body was taken to the medical examiner’s office, but there has been no word on the cause of death.
