The auto racing season is winding down but there will be two major events this weekend at different ends of the state.
The second race in a three-race Late Model series will be held at Hermon’s Speedway 95 on Saturday night to go with a regular race card. The first-year series involves a race apiece at Unity Raceway, Speedway 95 and Wiscasset Raceway. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Linnehan’s Credit Now/Bobby Colburn 54-lapper will pay $1,754 and will honor the late Colburn, former driver of the No. 54 car at Speedway 95. Colburn died earlier this summer and his family and friends donated $1,054 to the winner’s purse.
There will also be racing in the Super Street, Strictly Street, Sport-Four and Little Enduro classes.
Down state, at Scarborough’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, the Pro All-Stars Series will team up with the Beech Ridge regulars for racing on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, there will be qualifying races for all six weekend divisions along with features for the NELCAR Legends cars, the Road Runners and a $1,000-to-win 75-lapper for the Wildcat/Strictly Street cars. Racing starts at 12:15.
On Sunday, the PASS cars take over with a 300-lap PASS North Super Late Model race, a $2,000-to-win PASS Sportsman 100 and a 50-lap PASS Modifieds feature. Racing starts at noon.
