DERRY, N.H. — Regulators from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont have been unhappy about numerous customer service, order-fulfillment and other problems with FairPoint Communications Inc. since the company took over phone and Internet service in the region this year. Now, they’re getting together to ask FairPoint officials questions.
The Derry Municipal Center in New Hampshire is the setting for a meeting Wednesday at 1 p.m. The New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, the Maine Public Utilities Commission and the Vermont Public Service Board are conducting the meeting. It’s open to the public, but the public won’t be allowed to speak.
FairPoint last year bought Verizon Communications’ landline telephone and Internet business in the three states for $2.3 billion. The problems surfaced almost immediately when FairPoint officially took over the phone and Internet system seven months ago.
