CARIBOU, Maine — Sen. Collins is the grand marshal of a big parade in her hometown on Saturday.

Caribou is holding its 150th anniversary celebration, and Collins will lead the parade featuring bands, antique cars and tractors, and floats. Organizers say it’s the biggest parade since Caribou’s 100th celebration in 1959.

Following the parade, there’ll be a community picnic and fireworks, among other events.

Collins says her ancestors, led by Samuel Wilson Collins, were among the early settlers of Caribou. She says Caribou has been home to six generations of her family.
