Swine flu shots at school?

Last week, Gov. John Baldacci declared a statewide civil emergency because of the H1N1 in-fluenza virus, paving the way for mass immunization of Maine schoolchildren and other resi-dents. The emergency designation protects schools and health care providers against liability claims related to their participation in school-based vaccine clinics this fall for both the sea-sonal flu and the H1N1 flu. Should schools provide H1N1 vaccinations or should this be left to family doctors? What about families that are concerned about the potential side effects of shots?
