Maine to get $2 million in Pfizer settlement

The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine is set to receive about $2 million from the record $2.3 billion civil and criminal penalty that Pfizer Inc. is paying over unlawful prescription drug promotions.

Attorney General Janet Mills said Wednesday that Maine joined with other states and the federal government in reaching two separate agreements with Pfizer.

Mills said Maine would receive more than $1.4 million in restitution and other recovery payments for Pfizer’s alleged violations of federal drug rules.

In a second unrelated settlement, Mills said Maine will receive nearly $500,000 as its portion of an agreement with Pfizer.
