Volunteers hand books down from the second floor of the Orono Public Library on Thursday to pack them in moving cases. About 30 people removed and restacked books for six hours to help with the preparation. The library is moving to a new location, and all of the 37,000 books will be taken to the new building on Pine Street in Orono. Library director Laurie Carpenter said those who are interested in volunteering with the unpacking of the books next week may contact the library by e-mail at opl@orono.lib.me.us.
