Police probe woman’s death in Monmouth; looking for son

The Associated Press

MONMOUTH — Maine State Police are investigating the suspicious death of an 80-year-old woman who was found in her home in Monmouth.

Spokesman Steve McCausland said Janice McDonald was found by relatives at about 5 p.m. Monday. An autopsy was expected to be completed Tuesday.

McCausland said police are looking for McDonald’s 43-year-old son, Kenneth McDonald, who lived with her.

McCausland said police want to question the son and check on his well-being, since he hasn’t been seen since the body was discovered.
