Should middle schools and high schools limit student use of cell phones and BlackBerries for texting and other noneducational activities?
Teachers report that students have used cell phones to text answers to tests, and to harass other students with threatening or sexually explicit messages. What is the best response? Should they be banned altogether from schools, or just classrooms? Should a teacher collect the devices at the start of class? Or should inappropriate use, when observed, dictate the policy?
