No one was injured early Friday morning when this tractor-trailer tipped over on Route 1 on Verona Island. According to Maine State Police Sgt. Alden Bustard, the driver of the Hannaford truck, Richard Greene, 41, of Bowdoinham, was headed east just past the Penobscot Narrows Bridge when he lost control of the truck on the curve near the intersection with West Side Drive. The truck, which was filled mainly with fruits and vegetables, tipped on the traffic island, blocking part of the intersection. The truck had to be unloaded before it could be righted and towed from the scene. The cab had extensive damage from the accident, but the driver was not injured. Crews from the Bucksport Fire Department kept traffic moving past the site until the truck was removed later in the day.
