BREWER, Maine — Brewer police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and a suspect or suspects involved in an overnight burglary this week.

The burglary occurred about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, when someone entered a home on Starlight Drive, according to Brewer police Capt. Jason Moffitt. He said a homeowner was awakened by a noise and upon investigating, discovered that the home had been burglarized.

Though Moffitt said items were stolen, he released no other details over concern that disclosure could impede the investigation.

A state police K-9 team tracked the suspect from Starlight Drive to Parkway South. Brewer investigators believe the vehicle used in the burglary was parked in the city’s basketball court parking lot on Parkway South across from Pendleton Street between 12:30 and 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Brewer police ask that anyone in the area during the specified times call 989-7001 if they saw anyone traveling on foot or a vehicle parked in the basketball court parking lot.

Though unaware of any other recent nighttime burglaries that occurred while the homeowners were present, Brewer police urge residents to take normal precautions to secure their homes and report any unusual or suspicious activities.
