KENDUSKEAG, Maine — Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries they suffered Wednesday in a two-car crash at the intersection of Stetson and Mudgett roads.
Injured were motorist Cheryl Brown, 38, and her mother and passenger, Gloria Brown, of Stetson and motorist Thomas Cushman, 23, of Old Town, state police Trooper Chris Hashey said Wednesday night.
Cushman complained of knee pain, Gloria Brown had a cut on her head and her mother complained of chest pain from her seat belt, Hashey said. No further information about their medical conditions was available Wednesday night.
Hashey said the accident occurred about 5 p.m. when Cushman, who was traveling on Stetson Road in his Oldsmobile sedan, drove through a stop sign at the intersection and struck the front end of Brown’s Ford Taurus.
Cushman reportedly told the trooper that the intersection “snuck up on him” and that although he tried to stop, his brakes didn’t catch as expected, which caused him to travel into the intersection.
Hashey said no charges are pending in connection with the accident.
