PORTLAND, Maine — U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree proved she has a sense of humor in an interview with political comedian Stephen Colbert on “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central TV.

When Colbert said he’d heard Portland has one of the highest concentrations of women living together, the Maine Democrat discussed what a tolerant state Maine is. Colbert went on to say Maine’s gay marriage law would lead to marriage between men and lobsters, to which Pingree responded “it’s not going to happen.”

After an argument about whether wind power would last, Colbert blew on her hand, saying it was wind power and asked whether it was generating some electricity, to which Pingree shot back, “Do you ever run out of that?”
