RUMFORD, Maine — Two young men charged with murder in the shootings of two men last week in Rumford, Maine, are due in court on Monday.

Nineteen-year-old Eric Hamel and 20-year-old Richard Moulton, both from the town of Mexico, were arrested on Friday following the killings of Victor Sheldon and Roger Day. Both men were shot in the head in the house Day was renting in Rumford.

Police say all four men were present at the time of the shootings. Moulton stayed beyond and called police. Inves-tigators initially treated him as cooperating witness before charging him.

Police aren’t commenting on any possible motive, but friends tell WGME-TV that Victor Sheldon had recently gotten into a fight with one of the suspects.
