CORINNA, Maine — A local woman was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield on Saturday after a pickup truck struck the Jeep she was driving shortly before 9 a.m.
Doreen Shaw, 55, complained of abdominal pain at the scene of the accident on Corinna Center Road, according to Penobscot County sheriff’s Deputy Sean McCue.
She was treated and released, according a hospital spokeswoman.
A 2000 Ford F150 driven by Cooper Page, 27, of Corinna pulled out in front of Shaw, McCue said. She tried to avoid him, but the right front corner of his pickup truck struck the driver’s front side of her vehicle.
Shaw lost control of her 1994 Jeep on impact, the deputy said. The Jeep went into a ditch on its right side and slid into some trees.
The truck had about $2,500 in damage, McCue said. The Jeep was demolished.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
No tickets were issued.
