AUGUSTA, Maine — Police in Maine’s capital city are on the lookout for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint while wearing a mask.

Augusta police say a man wearing a dark-colored mask approached a teller at the Northeast Bank branch on Western Avenue at 4 p.m. Tuesday, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect is believed to have fled in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say other customers were inside the bank, but nobody was injured.

The suspect is described as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing 170 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweat shirt and sweat pants.
