Voters to make absentee ballot requests online

The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine law makes it easy to vote via absentee ballot. And a new program will make it easier for voters to get those ballots.

Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap on Monday announced a program that lets voters in 189 towns request absentee ballots online.

Also, all residents have the option of either filling out the form and printing it at home, or printing the blank document at home.

Dunlap says the goal is to give Mainers “every opportunity to participate in the electoral process.”
