HAMPDEN and OLD TOWN – Michael Steven Violette, 50, passed away Aug. 1, 2009, at his home in Old Town. Mike was born Nov. 16, 1958, in Bangor, son of the late Nelson M. and Vergie M. Violette. Mike grew up and attended schools in Hampden. Throughout Mike’s life he worked as a laborer in several different job setting. He was an avid NASCAR fan, always rooting for Dale Earnhardt. Other interests of Mike’s were motorcycles, woodworking and spending time with friends. Mike is survived by his siblings, Virginia M. Grant and husband, Norman, Mary L. Ouellette and husband, Gerard, Nelson M. Violette Jr., David A. Violette and wife, Cheryl, and Nancy A. Delaney and fiance, James Story Sr.; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention. Mike was predeceased by his parents. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
