EDDINGTON, Maine — The town’s farmers market is open for business between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. each Sunday this summer and will include some locally grown or produced items, organizer Lore Lipkvich said.
“I’m a goat herder and I do cheese,” she said. “I’ll be selling cheese and my son is selling vegetables.”
Zucchini, greens and some lettuce will be available to purchase, and later this year shoppers should expect to see peas, tomatoes and other garden items, Lipkvich said.
Sunday’s market will include a vendor selling locally harvested eggs, locally made soaps and bath salts, and one selling plants.
“I’ll also be selling yogurt and yogurt smoothies,” Lipkvich said. “And I’m hoping to have a meat person there.”
As the Eddington farmers market grows, more vegetable vendors and, possibly, a baked-goods vendor will be added, she said. Those interested in setting up a booth can contact Lipkvich at 537-5673 for more details.
