TRENTON, Maine — A Brewer man is facing several charges after a collision on Route 3 Monday afternoon.

According to a report from Deputy Jeff McFarland of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Richard W. Clark II, 39, of Brewer was traveling north on Route 3 at about 2:15 p.m. when his vehicle drifted over the centerline into the path of a vehicle driven by Dustin C. Bradford, 28, of Eddington.

Bradford swerved to avoid a head-on collision. Clark’s car sideswiped Bradford’s vehicle, and Clark continued on heading north.

Officer Chad Wilmot of the Ellsworth Police Department stopped Clark’s vehicle on Route 3 in Ellsworth. Clark was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. He also was charged with operating after suspension and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Bradford’s vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Silverado, had an estimated $2,000 in damage in the accident. Clark’s 2000 Honda had $100 in damage.
