AUGUSTA, Maine — A Palmyra man who successfully used an insanity defense after killing his live-in girlfriend’s 13-year-old son three years ago has been granted his request for supervised releases from the mental facility where he lives.
Todd Curry was charged with murder after shooting Anthony Tucker multiple times in the head on Nov. 28, 2006. He has been at Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta since shortly after the shooting.
Curry was in Kennebec County Superior Court on Monday petitioning for up to two-hour, one-on-one supervised visits outside of Riverview.
Assistant Attorney General Lisa Marchese said Justice Joseph Jabar granted the request as a small step toward integrating Curry back into society.
