A Nyack, N.Y., man suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon when the rear tire of his motorcycle blew out while he was traveling south on Interstate 95 in T2 R8, according to the Maine State Police.

Stanley Young, 47, was traveling with members of a New York chapter of the Blue Knights when the incident occurred about 3 p.m. Young was able to maintain control of the bike and drive it off the highway, the state police said, before it fell over as he slowed to a stop.

Young, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, police said. (Judy Harrison, BDN)
