A musician and writer pair up to do a series of shows, highlighting their works? Sounds interesting — but even more so when it’s a father-daughter team. Kate Schrock, a Portland-based singer-songwriter, will team with her dad, Gladden Schrock, a Bristol-based, Pulitzer Prize-nominated novelist, for a night of words and music called “Voices, Schrock & Schrock.” The show will take the duo across the state, with a stop in Bangor at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Bangor Opera House. Gladden Schrock will read from his body of work — poems, fiction, essays and speeches — while his daughter will perform her jazzy rock, culled from her six albums. The Schrocks say they have so much material they could produce three distinct shows. Indeed, their performances will change as they play to different audiences in various locales.
