A 20-year-old Bangor man and a 17-year-old male, also from Bangor, were charged Sunday in connection with an incident on Somerset Street.

Kristopher Pike and the minor, whose name was withheld, were charged with misdemeanor criminal threatening, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.

The incident began about 5 p.m. when police officers were sent to the Somerset Street area after a report of a large group of disorderly juveniles. As the officers approached the area, they were advised that a gun was involved, Edwards said.

When the officers reached the scene, “a frantic group of mostly teenagers [told them] that a young man had brandished a gun at them and just drove away,” Edwards said. The group provided police a description of the car.

According to Edwards, the car was immediately located near Miller Drug on State Street and two suspects, Pike and the minor, were identified.

Edwards said that a BB or pellet-style handgun was found in the parking lot behind Miller Drug and after an extensive investigation, police charged Pike and the 17-year-old male. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
