CATHERINE ANNE ‘KAY’ LAPLANTE

MILLINOCKET – Catherine Anne “Kay” Laplante, a lifelong resident of Millinocket, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, at a Lincoln health care facility. Kay was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Millinocket, to Kenneth A. and Edith A. Sloat. Kay loved to be surrounded by friends and family. She enjoyed reading, knitting and cooking. She also enjoyed hosting cookouts at the summer home she shared with her late husband, Dick. They especially enjoyed the Christmas season when they held an open house for their many friends. She is survived by a son, David and wife, Angela; grandsons, Deric and Aaron Laplante; granddaughter, Lacey Laplante; a daughter, Randa Fitzgerald and husband, Edward; grandsons, Matthew, Mark and Michael Fitzgerald; a sister, Dillon Roach; several nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her husband, John “Dick” Laplante; sister, Juanita McDonnell in 2001; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Aiden Laplante in 2008. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at First Congregational Church, Millinocket. Memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church, P.O.
