BIDDEFORD, Maine — A Maine man accused of gunning down two brothers on the street in front of his house has been ordered held without bail.
Rory Holland of Biddeford entered no plea to two counts of murder during his initial appearance Wednesday in York County Superior Court. Afterward, he was returned to the York County Jail.
Assistant Attorney General Lisa Marchese said the state will argue at a hearing next week in favor of keeping Holland behind bars while awaiting trial for the killings of 19-year-old Gage Greene and 21-year-old Derek Greene. Both men were shot early Tuesday.
Holland, who’s 55, is a two-time mayoral candidate in Biddeford. He’s also a convicted felon. Police are investigating where he obtained the handgun.
