Maine Maritime Academy junior Andrew Joy embraces his girlfriend Bryanna Jensen and two-week-old son Cooper as he meets his son for the first time upon his return with the school’s training ship, the State of Maine, which arrived in Castine after a 60-day training cruise Saturday, June 27, 2009. “He’s smaller than the pictures look,” said Joy of New Glouster who was in Newfoundland when Cooper was delivered. “It doesn’t seem quite real yet.” It was Joy’s second time aboard the training vessel which traveled 12,000 nautical miles with 205 students and 55 crew members.
