Rockland man faces charges of drug trafficking

ROCKLAND, Maine — Drug-related crimes featured prominently in the indictments handed up last week by a Knox County grand jury.

Raymond Merrifield, 27, of Rockland was indicted on three counts of aggravated trafficking in controlled substances, including heroin, hydrocodone and Klonopin. The incidents reportedly occurred on Feb. 24 and March 25, all in Rockland.

Heather Corson, 31, of Morrill was indicted on three counts of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and three counts of acquiring drugs by deception. Those incidents reportedly happened on Dec. 15, 2008; Dec. 23, 2008; and Feb. 18, 2009, all in Camden.

“It’s just our ongoing aggressive behavior towards drug dealers,” said James Pease, supervisory special agent for the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. “We’re seeing a large number of drug arrests in the last three years, because finally, the state and the sheriff’s departments and the local police departments basically said, ‘Enough.’”

Pease said he has been noticing an increase in cocaine and OxyContin in recent months.

Also indicted by the grand jury was Katerina W. Campbell, 31, of Waldoboro. She is accused of stealing $1.06 worth of candy from a store in Warren on March 7 and had two prior convictions from Rockland District Court on charges of theft by unauthorized taking.

Three area men were indicted on charges stemming from a Dec. 30 burglary of the Hope General Store and attempted burglary of the Mic Mac Market in Union. David M. Callahan, 19, of Camden; Cyrus C. Hardenbergh, 20, of West Rockport; and Christopher M. Donohue, 23, of Hope all were charged with one count of bur-glary and one count of attempted burglary.

Audry Dearborn, 37, Rockland, negotiating a worthless instrument, theft by deception.

Jason W. Olsen, 24, Friendship, criminal threatening, assault on an officer, obstructing government administration.

Haley H. Barrett, 31, Camden, forgery, theft by unauthorized taking.

Richard G. Emery, 35, Rockland, aggravated criminal trespass, two counts assault.

Timothy J. Ruth, 22, Portland, eluding an officer, criminal OUI, criminal speeding.

Kathleen Zable, 18, Rockland, unlawful possession of a schedule W drug (Dilaudid).

Robert Graham, 18, Rockland, unlawful trafficking in a schedule W drug (Dilaudid), unlawful possession of a schedule W drug, two counts violation of conditions of release.

Edward Rogers, 49, Tenants Harbor, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, aggravated cultivation of marijuana, criminal forfeiture of a firearm.

Edward Bernardo, 51, Cushing, unlawfully furnishing schedule W drug (cocaine), violation of conditions of release.

Dean S. Dyer Jr., 32, Rockland, operating after license revocation.

Erica L. Boyington, 22, Waldoboro, two counts burglary, two counts theft by unauthorized taking, theft of services, three counts violation of conditions of release.

Jeffery A. Renecker, 25, Rockland, failure to appear.

Travis C. Robbins, 19, Rockland, robbery, unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, violation of conditions of release.

David C. Bates, 25, Rockland, theft by unauthorized taking, forgery, negotiating a worthless instrument.

Blaire E. Horton, 27, Friendship, theft by unauthorized taking.

Jessika L. Grant, 24, Warren, aggravated assault, criminal mischief.

Erik C. Anderson, 43, St. George, criminal threatening.

Craig A. Brown, 53, Camden, aggravated criminal mischief.

Craig L. Davis, 45, Rockland, assault.

Jessica A. Alexander, 33, Waldoboro, theft by unauthorized taking, misuse of identification.

Meryk G. Lowden, 21, Rockland, theft by unauthorized taking, two counts stealing drugs.

Sharon Tommasaino, 55, Union, three counts unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, criminal OUI.

Angela M. Simmons, 32, Thomaston, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

Earl E. Leigh Jr., 34, Washington, operating after revocation, violation of conditions of release.

Louis J. Rubino Jr., 27, Maine State Prison, Warren, assault on an officer.

Bryant A. Clyburn, 24, Maine State Prison, Warren, trafficking in prison contraband.

Nicholas C. Bennett, 27, Maine State Prison, Warren, aggravated assault, trafficking in prison contraband. According to court documents, on Nov. 10, 2008, Bennett used a homemade shank made from a sharpened toilet brush handle on a victim.

Jesse William Baum, 26, Maine State Prison, Warren, aggravated assault.
