BETHEL, Maine — Volunteers are joining the Maine Warden Service and state and Bethel police in the search for a 40-year-old woman who was reported missing from her home in Bethel.

Police say Kim Vanderlaan disappeared from her Route 26 house on Tuesday. Her boyfriend, John St. Hilaire of Bethel, called police Tuesday evening after discovering that she was gone but that her purse, keys and cell phone were left behind.

Wardens searched an area around the home on Wednesday and Thursday, and a larger search that includes tracking dogs was organized for Friday.
