PORTLAND, Maine — A judge has reduced the bail for a Standish woman accused of beating her husband with a baseball bat on Easter morning.

Bail for 47-year-old Linda Dolloff was reduced Thursday from $100,000 to $25,000 in cash. She has entered no plea on charges of attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and filing a false report in connection with the April 12 attack on Jeffrey Dolloff.

Police say she initially claimed that an intruder entered their home, beat her husband and then shot her in the abdomen.

The Portland Press Herald said defense lawyer Martin Ridge argued that the $100,000 bail should be reduced given Dolloff’s clean criminal record and her close ties to her family and the community.
