SEARSPORT, Maine — Seven-time New England Golden Gloves champion Josh McAuliffe will headline Wyman Boxing Club’s card beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday at Searsport High School.
McAuliffe, a light heavyweight from Bangor, will box Jason Carrier of Claremont, N.H., in the main event, promoter Skeet Wyman said. McAuliffe is the reigning New England Golden Gloves champion.
In other bouts, lightweight Brandon Berry of West Forks and Orono is matched up with a boxer from the Lowell, Mass., Boxing Club, heavyweight Joel Bishop of Bingham and Orono will take on a fighter from Augusta and light heavyweight Ryan Sanders of Bangor will square off against a fighter from Precision Boxing Club on Burlington, Vt.
Portland Boxing Club light middleweight Jason LeHouillier will be on hand to talk to fans and sign autographs. LeHouillier, who has a 21-1-1 record as a professional, is scheduled to fight sixth-ranked Julio Cezar Chavez Jr. in a televised bout later this summer. Chavez is 39-1 with 30 knockouts. Win, lose or draw against Chavez, LeHouillier has been guaranteed another match against a ranked fighter later this year, Wyman said.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Admission is $25 for ringside seats, $15 for adults and $10 for students.
