Nason propels Falcons to win

BREWER, Maine — Tim Nason hit a two-run single in the fourth inning to put the Falcons ahead and pitched four innings of relief to gain the win on the mound as Brewer beat Motor City 10-8 in their mutual Zone 1 American Legion baseball opener at Heddericg Field.

Chase Daniels smacked a three-run home run and a single for Brewer, while Steve Klenowski stroked a three-run homer. Kyle O’Connell doubled, singled and scored three runs.

Nick Smith collected three singles and John Gagnon had two singles for Motor City of Bangor.

Hampden 6, Lincoln 3

At Hampden, Cody Miller hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to help spark Hampden by Lincoln in the teams’ mutual Zone 1 opener.

Shawn Smith tripled while Cody Johndro added a double for the Riverdogs.

Lance Bernier hit an RBI double for Lincoln while Mike Thibodeau and Andy Kay each added an RBI single.
