BROWNVILLE JUNCTION – Murdock A. MacDonald Jr., 75, husband of the late Carolyn (Farrar) MacDonald, died June 16, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Lac Megantic, Quebec, son of Murdock A. Sr. and Clara (Murray) MacDonald. Murdock served his country with the U.S. Army. He had retired from Bangor and Aroostook Railroad, where he had worked in the Derby Shops as a sheet metal worker. He was a very active member of Brownville Junction United Methodist Church and Pleasant River Lodge No. 163 AF & AM. Murdock enjoyed playing cards and spending time at camp with family and friends, where he looked forward to swimming and kayaking with all the kids. He volunteered his time to drive and care for others in the community and was always willing to help others when it was needed. He is survived by a son, Murray A. MacDonald of Lebanon, N.H.; a daughter, Bethany Worster and her husband, Todd, of Brownville; a brother, Murray F. MacDonald of Brownville Junction; three grandchildren, Rachel, Lauren and Reid Worster; a stepson, Jim Burton of Portland; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friends. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Brownville Junction United Methodist Church with the Rev. Isaac Leshy Paynter officiating.
