BANGOR, Maine — A 41-year-old Bangor man was killed Wednesday night after the Suzuki motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on Griffin Road.

Kondwa Chalila died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 7:45 p.m. just up the hill from the Bangor Fire Department’s Station 6, Bangor police Officer John Robinson said.

Nicolas Robbins of Indiana, the driver of the Toyota Camry involved in the accident, and a passenger, whose name was not immediately available, were not injured, Robinson said.

Details of the accident, which remains under investigation, were still sketchy late Wednesday evening, as Bangor Police Department accident reconstruction specialists worked through the night to nail down the details.

Police did, however, say that speed was a factor.
