BANGOR, Maine — A Robbinston man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court to six months in prison for selling at least 20 guns illegally to a Canadian man.

Leo Blais, 69, pleaded guilty earlier this year.

He worked for the True Value Hardware store in Calais when he bought the guns. It is illegal to buy guns for another person.

In a plea agreement with prosecutors, Blais agreed to waive his right to appeal his case to the U.S. Court of Appeals in Boston if it was 12 months or less.
