Navy secretary visiting Maine shipyards

BATH, Maine — Navy Secretary Ray Mabus is in Maine touring shipbuilder Bath Iron Works and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.

Mabus is visiting BIW Monday morning to familiarize himself with its operations and facilities. In the afternoon, he will visit the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Mabus was sworn in as the latest Navy secretary just last month. Monday’s tours mark his first visits to the shipyards.
