BANGOR, Maine — More than 30 artists and organizations will participate in the second Downtown Bangor Artwalk, which will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 19, in several downtown locations.

The first Artwalk was held March 20 and drew more than 300 visitors to the University of Maine Museum of Art on Harlow Street, one of the locations participants can pick up a map of the Artwalk sites. Other map locations will be Metropolitan Soul, the Bangor Opera House, BookMarc’s and the Hammond Street Senior Center.

The opera house, bookstore and senior center are three new sites for the Artwalk. At the senior center, works by member artists will be on display and for sale, with some of the profits donated to support the arts and handcraft programs offered at the senior center.

Liz Grandmaison, a 2007 recipient of a Maine Arts Commission Good Idea Grant, will display images from her self-published book, “The Music You Can’t Hear: An Exploration of the Luthier’s Craft,” in the studio of cello maker Nathan Slobodkin, located at 31 Central St.

The award-winning Flannery Brothers will present children’s music shows at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in their studio at 32 Central St.

At the UMaine museum, Artwalk participants may view three exhibitions that close that night.
