OWLS HEAD, Maine — Cool cars and antique airplanes are on display as the Owls Head Transportation Museum celebrates America’s passion for the road and the skies.

The museum’s annual Custom Vehicles & Antique Aeroplane Show features hundreds of vintage vehicles and a dozen or more antique planes. Sunday’s show opened to the public at 9:30 a.m.

The cars range from 1930s hot rods to 1970s muscle cars, plus many custom creations. Owners of pre-1989 vehicles are invited to exhibit their cars free of charge.

The museum’s plane collection features several World War I-era planes, including a 1917 “Curtis Jenny” plane made popular by the barnstormers of the 1920s and a 1917 Red Baron tri-plane.
