ORONO, Maine — A University of Maine student has been diagnosed with the swine flu virus.
The student lives off campus, somewhere in Penobscot County, according to the University of Maine.
Except to seek medical treatment at Cutler Health Center this week on the Orono campus, the student has not been on campus since the end of the spring semester, approximately five weeks ago. The student is not enrolled in summer classes, but is planning to take courses in the fall.
The patient is being treated without hospitalization and is recovering, according to a news release from the university.
