Will schools splinter or consolidate?

In November, voters will be asked to consider a question that would repeal Maine’s school consolidation law. If the repeal passes, will school districts that have already consolidated look to split apart? Or will they have begun to see savings and continue to move forward as one? If the law is repealed, will districts look to consolidate with

neighboring districts without a mandate to do so? Or was the consolidation push a bad idea?
