DOVER-FOXCROFT – Douglas D. Bouley, 81, died June 7, 2009, at his residence. He was born July 12, 1927, in Fort Kent, the son of Joseph and Zelia M. (Madore) Bouley. Douglas proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. After his discharge in 1952, he worked in area woolen mills until he retired from Guilford of Maine, April 15, 1996. He was a member of Chadbourne-Merrill American Legion Post No. 29. Douglas had many hobbies, including painting, gardening and his love of history. He was especially fond of his great-nieces, and very proud of their interests and accomplishments. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Douglas is survived by his sister and caregiver, Regina M. Foster of Dover-Foxcroft; two nephews, Curtis E. Foster and his wife, Keri, of Dover-Foxcroft and Douglas D. Foster and his wife, Sarah, of Houlton; a niece, Nicole M. Perkins and her husband, Donald, of Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; and four great-nieces, Kelly and Kathryn Perkins, Morgan Foster and Laurel Foster. Douglas’ family extends their gratitude to his caregivers, cousin, Larette Lynch and dear friend, Mary Hall, for their compassionate care. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery.
