NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine — Law enforcement officials say an 8-year-old boy was taken into custody Friday in Norridgewock after shooting three students and a school bus driver with a BB gun.
Police say no one was seriously hurt.
Somerset County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi said arrangements were being coordinated by social workers to have the boy evaluated.
The Morning Sentinel newspaper said there were 31 children on the bus that was headed to Mill Stream Elementary school in Norridgewock on Friday morning.
Gottardi said students aged between 5 and 11 were hit in the head and leg areas by plastic pellets. The driver was hit in the head.
Another student wrestled the gun away from the boy.
