AUGUSTA — Central Maine Power Company plans to disrupt power to an estimated 3,470 customers in several towns west of Bangor early Saturday morning, June 6, to perform emergency maintenance at its Carmel Substation.
The outage will begin just after midnight Saturday morning, and work is expected to be completed and power restored by 2 a.m.
“This outage is needed so our crews can work on this equipment safely and efficiently,” says CMP spokesperson Gail Rice. “We scheduled this emergency work for the overnight hours to minimize incon-venience to customers, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.”
The outage will affect most of the towns of Carmel, Etna, Levant, and Stetson; parts of Dixmont, Her-mon, and Newburgh; and a handful of customers in southern parts of Corinth and Exeter.
