BROOKLIN, Maine — The U.S. Coast Guard was searching the waters of Blue Hill Bay on Monday after receiving a report that there was a man in the water near Flye Island.

Few details were available late Monday afternoon. Coast Guard officials said they had received a report that there was a possibility a man was in the water. He had been on board the fishing vessel Gilly Poo & Allie 2 and was described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.

The Coast Guard repeated emergency radio broadcasts throughout Monday afternoon alerting mariners to be on the lookout for the man. They also sent a Falcon helicopter to search the area and had boats at the scene, which is off Flye Point in Brooklin.
