Skowhegan man pleads not guilty in manslaughter case

The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — A Skowhegan man has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter in last month’s shooting death of a friend.

Bruce LaVallee-Davidson entered his plea Monday in Cumberland County Superior Court. He is charged in the April 18 death of 50-year-old Fred Wilson at Wilson’s South Portland home.

A judge allowed the 50-year-old farmer to remain free on $10,000 bail, but barred him from using drugs or alcohol or possessing a weapon.

LaVallee-Davidson’s attorney has said the shooting was a tragic accident.
