EAST ORLAND – Anne (Palmer) Blaisdell, 85, passed away May 9, 2009, at a Brewer living center after a brave effort to recover from cardio-pulmonary complications after hip surgery. She was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Newport, R.I., the daughter of James and Katherine (Boyle) Palmer. Anne was a kind, loving and generous homemaker devoted to her family. She married Louis F. Blaisdell, March 1944, and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary March 25. After living in Hingham, Mass., for 26 years and Isle au Haut for 19 years, they settled on Heart Pond, East Orland. She is survived by her husband; and five children, Louis F. Blaisdell Jr. of Houston and his children, Ryan and Amanda, John P. Blaisdell of Isle au Haut and his children, Joshua, Nathan and Dylan, Teresa Blaisdell of Ellsworth, Frank P. Blaisdell of Bangor and Robert P. Blaisdell of Hingham, Mass.; and by special friends, Alice Keegan of Weymouth, Mass., Priscilla Harris of Duxbury, Mass., Mary Ford of Hingham, Mass., and Paula Greatorex of Isle au Haut. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Blaisdell of Isle au Haut. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced by the family.
