PORTLAND — A 50-year-old Skowhegan farmer who was indicted on a manslaughter charge arising from a gunshot death last month in South Portland has turned himself in.
Bruce LaVallee-Davidson was charged last week with killing 50-year-old Fred Wilson in the basement of Wilson’s home in the Willard Beach neighborhood.
LaVallee-Davidson returned Tuesday from a California vacation and turned himself in to Maine State Police. He was in the process of making bail and awaiting an arraignment date in Cumberland County Superior Court.
Investigators said LaVallee-Davidson pointed what he thought was an unloaded handgun at Wilson and shot him in the head on April 18. The men were friends.
