2 Maine men accused of kidnapping Fla. couple

The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — Two Brunswick men who allegedly seized a Florida couple and stole a wallet and some prescription medication face charges of kidnapping, robbing and terrorizing.

Police arrested 39-year-old Manesseh Massaline and 32-year-old Scott Coombs after the couple fled a Brunswick apartment and provided a description of the suspects’ car.

Police say Massaline had met the man and woman, who are in their 20s, in Florida this month and they had driven to Maine together.

Police said the couple were staying at a motel when Massaline and Coombs went there, roughed up the man and took both of them to the apartment.

Police Commander Marc Hagan said the victims ran when they heard their kidnappers talking about where to dump the bodies.
